This course gives the student an overview of anatomy, physiology and basic infection control, along with basic phlebotomy theory which will prepare the student for advanced phlebotomy techniques. Students with 0-6 months experience must begin with this Basic Phlebotomy course. This course is strictly timed to be 20+ hours long.

Prerequisite : High School completion (unopened, sealed transcripts) or GED (unopened, sealed transcripts. Sealed transcripts will need to be sent to the state of California CDPH-LFS with application, not to the school).
Our advanced course is set up to follow the basic theory class and will present an in-depth study of advanced infection control, the advanced theory and technique of venipuncture, pre-analytical errors to avoid, as well as a module on advanced law and ethics pertaining to the profession of phlebotomy, building on the previous modules in the Basic Course. This course is strictly timed to be 20+ hours long.

Prerequisite : High School completion (unopened, sealed transcripts) or GED (unopened, sealed transcripts) and successful completion of the Basic course if you have less than 6 months experience in the medical field. (Sealed transcripts will need to be sent to the state of California CDPH-LFS with application, not to the school.)
Certified phlebotomists must partake in continuing education courses to maintain their professional credential. Those that are already trained and employed in the field may also find that supplemental training is available to benefit their personal and professional enhancement, or to cross-train into another related allied health profession.
